(COLFAX TOWNSHIP) -- A 38-year old Bad Axe woman was injured following a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon at the intersection of M-53 and Rapson Road in Colfax Township. Huron County Sheriff's deputies say the incident took place around 2:30 p.m. when a westbound vehicle driven by Jessica Bastuba of Bad Axe failed to yield for a southbound pickup driven by 49-year old Michael McKerchie of Columbiaville, resulting in the collision. Bastuba was freed from her vehicle by the Bad Axe Fire Department. She was transported to Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe and later flown by helicopter to a Saginaw hospital for further treatment. McKerchie and his three out-of-the-area passengers were taken to Huron Medical Center where they were treated and released. The crash remains under investigation. Deputies report that as of Tuesday afternoon, Bastuba is listed in good condition.
