Felonious assault suspect arrested in Bad Axe

(BAD AXE) -- Authorities are investigating a felonious assault that happened early Friday morning in Bad Axe. Officers from the Bad Axe Police Department and Huron County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to Murphy's Bakery around 5 a.m. after a caller reported that a female had come into the bakery and was injured. The 23-year old woman had blood on her face and hands, as well as a deep laceration on her forearm and injuries to her face. Officers were able to follow a trail of blood from the bakery to an apartment building on West Huron Street. They  then followed the blood into the apartment building, up the stairs, and to an apartment door. The door was locked and officers could not get anybody to answer. Entry was gained into the apartment a short time later and officers found a 28-year old male suspect hiding. The suspect was arrested for felonious assault. Further details on the investigation are not being released at this time.
