(MAPLE VALLEY TOWNSHIP) -- An 18-year old Brown City man was injured after losing control of his Jeep Wrangler Tuesday afternoon along St. Mary Street, north of Brooks Road in Sanilac County's Maple Valley Township. Sheriff's deputies say the incident took place just before 1 p.m. when Matthew Good was traveling north on St. Mary Street and lost control on the slippery, snow covered roadway. The Jeep ran off the road, entered the east ditch sideways and struck two large trees. The impact caused one of the trees to sever and the vehicle became wrapped around the other. A citizen called 9-1-1 after noticing that Good was injured when he freed himself from the wreckage. Good was transported to Marlette Regional Hospital for treatment and soon after transferred to Covenant Hospital in Saginaw. Deputies say speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
