(MARLETTE) -- The Marlette School Board held their regular meeting Tuesday night and presented the audit for the 2012-2013 school year. The auditing firm of Anderson, Tuckey, Bernhardt, and Doran, P.C. gave the district an Unmodified-Clean Opinion, which is the highest level of assurance possible. The audit found that Marlette School District's revenues during the 2012-2013 school year were $8,222,277, with expenditures totaling $9,060,835. Expenditures exceeded revenues, resulting in the board having to draw a total of $838,558 from the fund balance. The audit also found that there were certain inaccurate general ledger balances and that the financial reporting deadlines were not met. The board Tuesday also approved the hiring of interim Superintendent Al Broughton.
