(AKRON TOWNSHIP) -- Three people were injured in a three-car crash Monday morning on M-25 near Thomas Road in Tuscola County's Akron Township. Undersheriff Glen Skrent says the incident took place around 10:50 a.m. when a vehicle towing a trailer, driven by David Sylvester of Linwood, was heading east on M-25 and lost control, crossing the centerline. The Sylvester vehicle struck a westbound car driven by Ashley Volk of Bad Axe head-on. A vehicle also traveling west behind Volk, driven by Bradley Schwanbeck of Saginaw, was unable to stop in time and struck Volk. During the collision, the trailer being towed by the Sylvester vehicle became detached and landed in a field. Deputies say that all three drivers were transported to local hospitals for treatment of various injuries; none of which appeared life threatening, according to Skrent. Deputies were assisted by Akron Police and the Tuscola County Road Commission at the scene.
