Sandusky's 20th Annual Country Christmas Lighted Farm Implement Parade Winners; Home and Business Decorating Contest Winners Announced

(SANDUSKY) -- Crowds of people braved the cold to watch Sandusky's 20th Annual Country Christmas Lighted Farm Implement Parade Saturday night. This year's Mayor's Award was given to Countryside Free Methodist Church for their float entitled, "Filing you up with Christmas Spirit." The Heritage United Methodist Church took top honors in the Religious Community category. The Sandusky Community Fire Department entertained the crowds with their amazing light show synchronized with music. The department took top honors in the Fire Department category for their efforts. Gordon Farms was the winner of the Privately Owned Modern Farm Equipment and Tractors Division and Setcher Site Specific, LLC won the Agricultural Equipment Dealers/Commercial Farm Supply category with their "Music Box Dancer." float. The winner of the Non-farm Small Division was Phil's Custom Flooring, which featured horse back riders and a horse drawn wagon. Pirates of Michigan took top honors in the Service, Non-profit category. The Pirates of Michigan are a group of friends and family that enjoy getting together for parades, fundraisers and movie openings. Saturday night's parade capped off a weekend of events held throughout Sandusky to kick start the holiday season. Earlier in the day, Team Walmart was the winner of the Fruit Cake Toss for the third straight year. The winner of the Home Decorating contest was 334 Bridgehampton Street, second place went to the Behm residence at 195 Bridgehampton Street and third place went to the Combs family at 401 Golfview. The first place winner of the Business Decorating contest was the Health Store at 160 E. Sanilac Ave. Second place went to Eastside Plaza at 119 E. Elk and third place went to the Ball Insurance Agency at 132 S. Elk Street.
