(HURON COUNTY) -- A former Port Austin resident has been arrested on a felony charge of breaking and entering, almost 5-years after the incident took place. Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson says 23-year old Joshua Monaco was taken into custody on November 30 for his involvement in the break-in of a cottage located at 246 E. Spring Street in Port Austin back on February 8, 2009. Sheriff Hanson says that was also the scene of a suspicious fire that destroyed the cottage. Authorities suspect the fire occurred at the same time as the break-in. Monaco was arraigned this week on the breaking and entering charge and remains jailed on a $50,000 cash bond. Monaco had an additional non-sufficient fund check charge pending and bond was set at $3,500 or 10%.
