(AREA) -- Barks and Bubbles Pet Salon in Marlette hosted a Pets-in-Pink fundraiser last month, offering dogs a fun spa day. 28 dogs of many breeds lined up to take a bite out of cancer. The tax-deductible donation of $25 per pet went to the B.C.U.P.S. Program. A total of $1,210 was raised during the fundraiser October 19, which will help provide free mammogram screenings for the uninsured and underinsured. Owner Kelly Rheaume said that 20 volunteers came to the all-day event to bathe and manicure each pet and raise awareness about breast cancer. Also available at the fundraising event were eight donated gift baskets raffled off during a silent auction.
