(LAPEER COUNTY) -- MDOT crews are moving on to the next phase of construction work on I-69 and M-53 this week. Pavement patching on westbound I-69 from the Lapeer/St. Clair County line to M-53 is expected to wrap up and crews will start patching work on M-53 over I-69 Thursday, October 18. The $3.5 million project is scheduled to be complete in early November. One lane of traffic will remain closed on westbound I-69 for resurfacing and M-53 will have one lane closed in each direction during the patch work. Motorists should expect delays.
