(SANILAC COUNTY) -- Sanilac County Community Mental Health employees who participated in the "Casual for a Cause" fundraiser raised $794. The money will be used to help launch the new Sanilac County Child Advocacy Center. CMH employees are allowed to dress casually every other Friday in exchange for a $3 donation to the fund. The money is directed toward initiatives that benefit citizens in the county. Sanilac County Community Mental Health Executive Director Jim Johnson recently presented a check to Dianna Schafer, Health Officer of the Sanilac County Health Department and Sanilac County Prosecuting Attorney Jim Young. The money will be used specifically to assist in paying a forensic interviewer at the center, which will be housed at the Health Department. The child-focused neutral facility for children who are victims of alleged sexual abuse or severe physical abuse, will offer specialized medical exams and interviews by trained professionals.
