National Drug Take Back Day Oct. 26

(AREA) -- A number of local law enforcement agencies are joining the Drug Enforcement Administration on Saturday, October 26 during National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, giving residents an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by safely disposing of dangerous, expired, unused, or unwanted prescription drugs. Liquids will not be accepted. The event will take place between 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Sanilac County Sheriff's Office at 65 N. Elk Street in Sandusky, Tuscola County Sheriff's Office, located at 420 Court Street in Caro, Huron County Sheriff's Office at 120 S. Heisterman Street in Bad Axe, St. Clair County Sheriff's Department at 1170 Michigan Road in Port Huron, and at the Port Huron Police Department at 100 McMorran Blvd. Unwanted prescription pills may also be turned in at the Michigan State Police Caro and Lapeer Posts on Saturday, October 26 between 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
