(SANDUSKY) -- The Sanilac County Board of Commissioners received an update on the status of the Sanilac Medical Care Facility Tuesday afternoon. Louie Wenzlaff, a consultant for the medical care facility, said that the project is progressing close to schedule. He said that as of Tuesday, most of the air handling duct work has been completed and covered with insulation, the hot water heat piping installation is complete, and that inside framing is up for all resident rooms and hallways in the existing building. Wenzlaff added that the concrete flooring in the new addition is scheduled to be completed next week, and that steel framing for the roof of the addition should be coming in the near future. Meanwhile, commissioners Tuesday approved the payment of invoices for the medical care facility renovation and addition in the amount of $263,676.24. Funding will be drawn from the medical care facility construction fund.
