(FREMONT TOWNSHIP) -- State police from the Caro Post were led on a brief high speed chase early Saturday evening when they attempted to stop a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed on Galbraith Line Road near Fremont Road in Sanilac County's Fremont Township. According to police, the motorcycle failed to stop then continued at a high rate of speed down various side roads for several miles then eventually headed north on Black River Road where he was intercepted by an officer from the Croswell Police Department. The rider, a 23-year-old Grant Township man, stopped without incident and told police he knew he was in trouble for speeding so he ran. He was lodged in the Sanilac County jail on charges of fleeing and eluding and reckless driving. Alcohol was not a factor.
