MSP Still Seeking Suspect in Attempted Abduction in Lapeer County

(SILVERWOOD) -- Michigan State Police Troopers from the Lapeer Post are still investigating the attempted abduction of a child in Silverwood the afternoon of Tuesday, September 3. Several tips have come in, but no suspects have been named. Authorities say the 12-year old child was in his yard when the suspect approached him. The suspect then told the child he could take him to a better place and asked the child to come with him. The child ran into the house and an adult called 9-1-1. The suspect may have been driving a white full sized pickup truck. The suspect is described as a tanned white male, 30-40 years old, approximately 5'11" with an athletic build. He had short dark hair styled forward to a point, a short stubble beard with trimmed goatee, and a scar approximately 3 inches long on the right side of his neck. The child described the suspect as having a deep voice and a bigger nose. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Michigan State Police Lapeer Post at 810-664-2905.
