(AUSTIN TOWNSHIP) -- Three people were injured in a single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on M-19 near Soule Road in Austin Township. Sanilac County Sheriff's Deputies say that a 17-year old Ubly man was driving a pickup hauling an enclosed tandem axle trailer south on M-19. The trailer jacknifed causing the truck to lose control and enter a ditch. The truck became separated from the trailer and rolled over in a field trapping the driver and two passengers. Argyle and Bingham Township firefighters used their Jaws of Life to free the occupants. The driver was taken directly by a Life Net helicopter to a Flint area hospital with unspecified injuries. A passenger, 18-year old Zachary Sopczynski of Ubly, was transported to Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, while the other passenger, a 15-year old Ubly resident, sustained minor injuries. Deputies say that all three occupants were wearing seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor.
