Man charged with attempted Kid Rock break-in says he was too drunk to remember

PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) - The man accused of trying to break into Kid Rock's house is pleading no contest due to drunkenness. The Detroit Free Press reports Brian D. Keith pleaded no contest to attempted home invasion, malicious destruction of a building and malicious destruction of personal property during a hearing Wednesday. His lawyer, Douglas Oliver, says Keith was so drunk he doesn't remember his actions that day. Keith was arrested August 3 after surveillance photos showed a man ramming the gate July 31 and trying to break into the house. The no contest plea is not an admission of guilt but is treated as such for sentencing. Keith has previous drunken driving and fraud convictions. He will be sentenced September 25.
