(SANILAC COUNTY) -- Sanilac County Sheriff's deputies were kept busy over the Labor Day weekend with 499 calls fielded by Sanilac Central Dispatch. According to Sheriff Garry Biniecki, deputies responded to 260 of those calls, which ranged from in-progress calls to assisting with Labor Day events. Sgt. Steve McKenney says deputies performed 46 traffic stops, issued 11 citations and gave 31 verbal warnings. There were four personal injury accidents and five property damage accidents over the course of the holiday weekend. Deputies made five arrests and Sanilac County Correction deputies booked in 24 people into the jail. The Sheriff's Marine Division patrolled the Lake Huron waterways between Lexington and Port Sanilac. The Marine deputies conducted regular patrols and responded to one boater assist call.
