Supect in Case of Stolen Purse Unknown

(SANILAC COUNTY) -- The Sanilac County Sheriff's Department is seeking help from the public in finding the person responsible of stealing a purse from a vehicle while it was parked in either the Brown City or Croswell area. Deputies report that the purse was stolen on either Tuesday, August 20 or Wednesday, August 21. The victim was at work in Brown City Tuesday from 7:30 a.m.-5:20 p.m. and realized the purse was missing the next morning around 8 a.m. at her home in Croswell. Between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. Wednesday, the suspect attempted to use stolen credit cards from the purse at the Sunrise (Marathon) gas station in Yale. The person attempting to use the card was caught on surveillance video. The clerk at the store was not familiar with the person who attempted to use the card. The female suspect in the photo pumped $40 in gas and drove off. The suspect vehicle is a light colored Ford Taurus.
