(LAPEER) -- State Representative Kevin Daley of Lum joined Governor Rick Snyder and officials from Pinnacle Foods at a ribbon cutting ceremony announcing the expansion of Pinnacle and their new 5,000-square-foot Vlasic facility, which will add 29 new jobs to Imlay City. Representative Daley stated that when the area's biggest employer adds jobs and expands physically, it's a sure sign of Michigan's turnaround. Pinnacle Foods is the parent company of the famous Vlasic pickle. The new 5,000-square-foot pickle plant is part of a consolidation and expansion effort. In February 2012, Pinnacle Foods announced its decision to focus on the branded Vlasic business resulting in a decision to consolidate all of the company's pickle production to the Imlay City facility. Daley added that the new plant is a perfect example of how the Legislature's actions over the last few years are creating economic opportunity in our state.
