(FRANKENMUTH) -- Police in Frankenmuth say they've arrested a gasoline thief who may have stolen fuel dozens of times in several neighboring counties. City and state police say they got a call last Friday about a suspicious vehicle and caught a 52-year-old Clio man after a brief chase. They say they also found a van with containers of gasoline. Investigators say that the man he may be connected with dozens of fuel thefts in Saginaw, Genesee, Tuscola and possibly Shiawassee County. Police say the suspect's vehicle contained 16 five-gallon gasoline containers, some full of gasoline. Police say they also found a ledger containing locations and addresses of outdoor fuel storage containers. Police say the suspect also was wanted on assault charges from January. He's being held pending new charges.
