(MARINE CITY) -- A Canadian scuba diver faces charges after border patrol agents found 8 pounds of marijuana in a water-tight container tied to a seawall. The PVC cylinder was found on the U.S. side of the St. Clair River. A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman says agents arrested the man in his scuba gear about 1 a.m. Monday as he left the river near Marine City in St. Clair County. Authorities say someone called them after seeing the man swimming across the river. Remote camera operators at the Operational Integration Center at Selfridge Air National Guard Base located the man and informed agents he appeared to be pulling a dry bag behind him. The man has been turned over to the St. Clair County Drug Task Force.
