(GREENLEAF TOWNSHIP) -- The Sanilac County Sheriff's Office is investigating a two-vehicle crash that took place Friday evening on Cass City Road, near Van Dyke Road in Greenleaf Township. At 4:42 p.m., Sanilac Central Dispatch received a transfer call from Tuscola County 9-1-1 reporting the accident. Investigation reveals that 24-year-old Sarah Volmering of Harbor Beach was traveling east on Cass City Road when she slowed down for a vehicle in front of her attempting to make a left hand turn. After slowing down, the Volmering vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Cass City resident Reggie Ignash. Volmering and her 1-year-old niece were taken by Cass City MMR to Huron Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. Ignash was not injured in the crash. The Sanilac County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Cass City Police Department, the Cass City Fire Department, and Cass City MMR.
