CPS School Board approves resignations and recalls a 3rd grade teacher

(CARSONVILLE-PORT SANILAC) -- The Carsonville-Port Sanilac School Board accepted the resignation of Special Education teacher Carolyn Christner during Wednesday night's meeting. The board approved the recall of Michelle Barnett from layoff status to fill the 3rd grade teaching position opening made available by the resignation of Carolyn Christner. The resignation request of Band Director George Smith was approved and the board hired Jaimee Jordan to fill his spot. Jaimee is a Michigan State University graduate with a Bachelor of Music Education. She earned a Master of Music Teaching at Northern Arizona University. The retirement of the district's Custodial/Maintenance Supervisor Ed James was accepted with regrets. Due to Ed's retirement, the board approved an Operations/Maintenance Agreement with Croswell-Lexington Schools to cover his former duties.
