(CASEVILLE TOWNSHIP) -- The Huron County Sheriff's Department responded to a call of a sailboat running ashore Friday evening in Caseville Township. Upon arrival, the Huron County Sheriff's Department Marine Division discovered a sailboat stuck approximately 100 yards from shore with three occupants aboard. Authorities determined that the best way to get the occupants to shore would be to assist them in wading through the waist-deep water. The owner and operator of the sailboat, a 79-year-old East Tawas man, was unable to wade through the water and an inflatable rescue boat was used to bring him back to shore. No major injuries were reported. The Huron County Sheriff's Office received assistance from the Caseville Fire Department and Scheurer Ambulance Services.
