(SANILAC COUNTY) -- A 32-year old Applegate man wanted for strangulation and arson has been arrested on multiple felony charges. Sanilac County Sheriff Garry Biniecki says investigation started on July 27 in the 4800 block of Kilgore Road. Deputies were sent to the residence for a domestic violence in progress call. Upon arrival, deputies found that the suspect, William Ball, had fled the scene. An investigation revealed that the suspect was the son of the couple who resided at the home and he showed up intoxicated and unannounced asking for gasoline and food. An altercation between the dad and son broke out. When the suspect's father tried to stop the son, both the man and his wife were injured during the altercation. Ball was arrested without incident on Thursday at a home in the 4700 block of Wagner Road near Croswell. He was arraigned Friday on charges of Felony Assault by Strangulation, Attempted Arson Second Degree and Aggravated Domestic Violence. He remains jailed without bond pending his preliminary exam scheduled for August 13.
