CLEVELAND (AP) - Tigers manager Jim Leyland finally addressed the suspension of All-Star shortstop Jhonny Peralta, banned 50 games for his involvement in the Biogensis scandal. Leyland says the first-place team will miss Peralta, one of 13 players disciplined by Major League Baseball on Monday. Leyland refused to discuss Peralta's suspension after it was handed down. He dismissed reporters from his office when he was asked for a comment. Leyland says he was reluctant to speak about the suspension because "you're talking about legal issues and everything else." Leyland felt it was best that Detroit general manager Dave Dombrowski speak on behalf of the Tigers' organization. Leyland thought it was disrespectful that he was asked about Peralta after media members were informed he would only talk about on-field matters.
