Suspect arraigned in Port Huron double homicide

(PORT HURON) -- A 31-year-old Port Huron man has been arraigned on charges stemming from the bodies of a man and woman found late last month at an apartment complex in Port Huron. Manuel Francisco Gamez was arraigned today on five counts, including two counts of open murder, two counts of torture, and one count of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree and habitual offender third degree. On July 30th, officers found the bodies of 29-year old Daniel McRoberts and 26-year old Melissa Ichenberg after responding to a complaint of a suspicious incident at the Gratiot Village apartment complex. Gamez is being held without bond. A preliminary examination is set for Tuesday, August 20th.
