(BURTCHVILLE TOWNSHIP) -- Three Detroit area men were arrested early Monday morning after a car chase with police that ended in the 6100 block of Lakeshore Road in St. Clair County's Burtchville Township. Sheriff Tim Donnellon says his deputies were contacted around 2:50 a.m. regarding a car chase that was heading east on I-94 from Chesterfield Township. Chesterfield Police were on the chase that began in New Baltimore with what was believed to be a stolen Dodge Magnum out of Warren. Officers observed the vehicle in the area of I-94 and Fred Moore Highway and began pursuit. Port Huron Police set up stop sticks near the Water Street exit and were able to deflate one of the tires on the suspect vehicle. The driver of the vehicle continued to flee, heading northbound on Pine Grove Avenue, 24th Avenue and then Lakeshore Road. The vehicle finally stopped in the 6100 block of Lakeshore, where the three occupants jumped out and fled on foot. All three were apprehended a short time later by Sheriff's deputies. The three men ages 26, 27, and 30 remain jailed on charges of fleeing and eluding and resisting and obstructing. They also face charges in Macomb County.
