(CARSONVILLE-PORT SANILAC) -- Two candidates were interviewed July 2 for the open position on the Carosonville-Port Sanilac School Board following the resignation of Mary Anne Magri. Board members Tuesday night appointed Tonya Emerson to fill the vacancy. Emerson is a CPS graduate with two children in the district. The Board then elected officers for the remainder of the year. Cliff Amey will serve as President and Louise Blasius as Vice-President.
In other business, the board approved the purchase or lease of 25 I-Pad or technology devices for all teaching staff members at a cost of $5,000. This will allow the staff to begin the process of becoming familiar, through training, with the first step in overall technology for all students K-12. The vision is to have devices in the students' hands this school year.
The partnership between CPS and Cros-Lex has been expanded to include the "Blue Water Virtual School." The new Virtual School is seeking students who currently do not attend school. The full time seat waiver for grades 6-12 allows those students to take two courses or a full schedule from home. The partnership owns the rights to 27 online courses required for graduation. The goal is to have the courses ready for this fall.
The Carsonville-Port Sanilac School District is seeking applicants for the following Schedule B Positions. If interested, please complete a Letter of Interest for each position applied for and remit to Carsonville-Port Sanilac School District, Attn: Angie Hooper, Athletic Secretary, 100 N.
