(DECKERVILLE) -- Deckerville Village Council members tossed a coin last week to choose the person that would fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Trustee Phil Swoffer. Village residents Ron Dore and Andy Watts were the two candidates that expressed interest. Dore, who served on the Planning Commission, was appointed by the council. He stepped down from the Planning Commission so that Andy Watts could take his place.
In other business, repairs to the Shuffle Board Court at Wilson Park were approved. A $2,575 loan will be taken from the Revolving Fund.
The Street Committee met Wednesday morning and approved the low bid of $1,199 from All American Tree for tree removal in the village. Work is expected to begin by next week.
