(SANILAC COUNTY) -- The 26-year old Yale man accused in a rash of break-ins of businesses in St. Clair and Sanilac counties has had several court appearances this month. Devin Meyers was arrested in June when a traffic stop in Yale lead to a search of his residence. There, items were found linking Meyers to the crimes in Yale, Brockway Township and Sanilac County. One of the incidents Meyers is accused of was the break-in at the South Sanilac Veterinary Hospital in Sanilac County's Speaker Township. The drug Ketamine, used on humans and animals for the purpose of general anesthesia, was stolen. Meyers was arraigned in Sanilac County District Court July 3 on charges of breaking and entering of a building, larceny of a building, and two counts of possession of analogues. He waived his preliminary exam and was bound over to circuit court. Because Meyers had a court hearing in St. Clair County on Monday, the same day as his Circuit Court arraignment in Sanilac County, a written waiver was submitted. His pretrial on the Sanilac County charges was set for Monday, July 22. Meyers remains jailed in St. Clair County stemming from his arrest in Yale.
