(MARLETTE) -- The finishing touches have been made to the newly renovated acute care inpatient unit at Marlette Regional Hospital and patients are already experiencing a difference. As part of the original hospital structure built in the 1950's, the acute care unit was in great need for modern updates to improve the patient and visitor experience. Before the project began, the unit's heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems were replaced. The renovation project included updated paint on the walls, floor coverings, lighting fixtures, patient handrails along the hallway, furniture, and patient privacy curtains. A centralized remote nurses' station was also created within the acute hallway that is more easily identifiable by patients and visitors. The entire project was made possible with generous financial contributions and support from the Marlette Regional Hospital Foundation, individual contributors and surrounding communities.
