(LAPEER) -- A Lapeer man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash that took place around 4 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Bowers Road and Rood Lake Road in Lapeer County. Troopers say witnesses saw the car traveling east at a high rate of speed along Bowers Road before it crossed the centerline, left the roadway, and flipped over. The 37-year old driver was ejected from the vehicle as it came to rest on its roof. The man was transported to McClaren Regional Medical Center for treatment. Michigan State Police Troopers from the Lapeer Post were assisted by the Lapeer County Sheriff's Department, Lapeer City Fire, and Lapeer County EMS. The crash remains under investigation. Troopers say the driver was not wearing a seat belt and its not known at this time if alcohol was a factor.
