(PORT HURON TOWNSHIP) -- A Port Huron Township teen faces several charges following a short chase with police and crash late Sunday night. St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon says the incident started around 11:30 p.m. when the 16-year old boy driving the Chrysler Sebring, began throwing objects from the car at a patrol car as they were passing on West Water Street. The patrol car went to stop the vehicle, which took off without its headlights on. The suspect vehicle turned north on Range Road and struck a Chevrolet Malibu attempting to turn onto Elaine Avenue. The impact caused the Malibu to roll onto its side. The driver, a 23-year old Port Huron Township man, was taken to Port Huron Hospital for treatment. The 16-year old driver of the Sebring was also taken to Port Huron Hospital. His two 15-year old passengers were not injured. Sheriff Donnellon says the 16-year old Port Huron Township resident is expected to face charges of fleeing and eluding and reckless driving. The case remains under investigation.
