AgriPac backs Romney's Presidential bid

(AREA) -- The last of AgriPac's 2012 general election endorsements was announced last week as the political arm of the state's largest farm organization announced its support of Mitt Romney's presidential campaign. The announcement took place at the Clinton County grain farm of Scott Lonier, parallel with the launch of the Michigan Farmers for Romney Coalition, led by a team of state officials and industry stakeholders. Michigan Farm Bureau President Wayne Wood of Marlette said that Michigan agriculture looks to Governor Romney for leadership and in return, Governor Romney can look to Michigan farmers for support and guidance over the next 4-years as we work together to bring America back to its feet. Also present at the event were industry stakeholders spearheading the Romney campaign in Michigan, including Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette, Department of Environmental Quality Director Dan Wyant, State Senator Judy Emmons of Sheridan, State Representative Kevin Daley of Lum, and GreenStone Farm Credit Services CEO Dave Armstrong. AgriPac, the Michigan Farm Bureau's political action committee, arrives at its endorsements through a democratic process rooted in the organization's membership base of more than 48,000 farmer members.
