(SANILAC COUNTY) -- The Sanilac County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday afternoon and approved Sheriff Garry Biniecki's request for more funding for inmate food at the Sanilac County jail. Sheriff Biniecki informed commissioners that currently 115 inmates are being fed daily, despite the current budget allocating money for only 110 inmates. More inmates are expected with the opening of the new jail--Biniecki said ten additional federal inmates could be arriving as soon as this Thursday. Commissioners agreed to increase funding for inmate food by an additional $25,000. In other business, commissioners appointed Kurt Wentzel to the Sanilac County Library Board for a 5-year term, set to expire June 30, 2018.
