DANBURY, Conn. (AP) - Lauryn Hill has started her three-month stint in prison for failing to pay about $1 million in taxes. Hill reported to a minimum-security federal prison in Danbury, Conn., yesterday. Inmates there live in dormitory-type living quarters and must work jobs like maintenance, food service or landscaping. Hill pleaded guilty last year to failing to pay taxes on earnings from 2005 to 2007, as well as unpaid state and federal taxes in 2008 and 2009. Hill had said during her sentencing she had failed to pay her taxes because she had dropped out of the music business to protect herself and her children. After Hill is released from prison, she will be under home confinement for three months and on parole for a year.
