Port Huron car fires prompt investigation

(PORT HURON) -- The Port Huron Department of Public Safety is investigating several car fires that are similar in nature. Most recently, Port Huron firefighters were called to two separate car fires early Tuesday morning between 4 a.m.-5 a.m. The first was located in the 1300 block of Pine Street. The vehicle sustained significant damage and was ruled a total loss. The second vehicle was located in the 900 block of Wall Street, with minor damage to the passenger compartment. No injuries or damage to other property or homes was reported. Fire crews responded to a vehicle fire on Friday, July 5 in the 2100 block of Griswold Street. Fire Marshal Jeff Tucker says all three fires have similar circumstances and each remains under investigation.
