(SANILAC COUNTY) -- It was a busy Fourth of July weekend for the Sanilac County Sheriff's Department. Of the 641 calls to Central Dispatch for Police, Fire, and EMS services, Sanilac County Sheriff's Deputies responded to 309. Deputies performed 42 traffic stops--issuing eight citations and 31 verbal warnings. There were 12 arrests made for various law violations, including disorderly conduct, malicious destruction of property, domestic violence, and operating while intoxicated. The Sanilac County Sheriff's Office Marine Division was also in action over the holiday weekend, working out of both the Lexington and Port Sanilac harbors. The Marine Division issued nine vessel stops and nine verbal warnings. Deputies say boater traffic was light throughout the holiday weekend, and that no water related injuries were reported.
