(MARLETTE) -- Marlette Schools Superintendent Jeriann Patterson gave the board an update on the progress of the Bond Projects last week, saying that at this time, everything is on schedule. The roof at the elementary school is finished and crews are starting on the Jr./Sr. high school roof. The boilers for the elementary school should be in this week and the Jr./Sr. High School office and north wall of the school has been removed to begin construction in that area. The projects at the old Bea McDonald site are complete.
In other business, the Negotiations Committee and Michigan Education Association met and came to a 3-year tentative contract agreement. Teachers would take a pay freeze in the first year and would see a .5% increase in the second year and a 1% increase in the third year. All Step 11 teachers have agreed to take a pay freeze for all 3-years. The tentative contract agreement was approved by the board.
