(MINDEN CITY) -- Two juvenile boys suspected of breaking into a home in Minden City were apprehended Tuesday afternoon. Sanilac County Sheriff Garry Biniecki says the break-in at a residence in the 8500 block of Maple Street was reported shortly before 3 p.m. by the care-taker of the vacation home. The man told dispatch that he had interrupted two individuals who had entered the home and that one of the suspects was possibly armed with a large knife. The suspects fled into a wooded area prior to deputies arriving. A short time later, a 14-year old Marlette area boy and a 16-year old from the Decker area were located a block away at another residence. They were staying with one of the teen's grandparents in Minden City. Deputies say a large Bowie Knife was recovered along with a pry bar that had been used during the break-in. Both juveniles admitted having been in the residence and petitions will be forwarded to Family Court for review. The boys were left in the custody of family members.
