(SANILAC COUNTY) -- The Sanilac Area Violence Elimination Council is an organization that includes members from our local community that are willing to partner together to end violence in Sanilac County. The SAVE Council also operates Sanilac County's only emergency shelter program, EVA's Place. Each October, during Domestic Violence Awareness month, this group begins a new fiscal year, members renew their annual dues and new members are encouraged to join our efforts. On Wednesday, October 10, the SAVE Council will host a Fall Welcome and Membership Drive at the MSU Extension Conference Room, located at 37 Austin Street in Sandusky from 4:30 p.m.-6 p.m. A brief presentation about the SAVE Council and services at Eva's Place will be provided. If you are interested is our events or services, are currently a member of the council, or may be interested in becoming a member, please join us. Guests will be provided light refreshments and council members and shelter staff will be on hand to thank the community for their generous support.
