(PIGEON) -- Saginaw Valley State University will now offer an agriculture studies minor. State Representative Terry Brown of Pigeon helped secure funding for the program as part of his work on the Appropriations Subcommittee on School Aid in 2009. The university will also add an agribusiness track this fall. The addition of the agriculture studies minor coincides with an extensive renovation and expansion of SVSU's on-campus greenhouse facilities. SVSU is also partnering with local agribusinesses and Michigan State University, which will accept transfer credits from the agriculture studies minor.
