(ST. CLAIR COUNTY) -- St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon has received a Distinguished Alumni Award from Ferris State University's College of Education and Human Services. Sheriff Donnellon graduated from Ferris in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Steven Reifert, director of Ferris' School of Criminal Justice, says Sheriff Donnellon received the award based on the things he has accomplished throughout his career. Donnellon started as a Road Patrol Deputy in St. Clair County in 1988. Since being elected sheriff in 2008, he has served on the St. Clair County Drug Task Force, Special Response Team, and the Detective Bureau. Sheriff Donnellon also has a Master of Public Safety Degree from Eastern Michigan University and is a graduate of the U.S. Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy 223.
