(ST. CLAIR COUNTY) -- A 60-year-old Detroit man is custody after an altercation with drivers in two separate vehicles on I-94 near Smiths Creek Road Friday night. According to St. Clair County Sheriff's deputies the man pulled a gun and pointed it at the other motorists while they were overtaking him on the highway. The first victim was able to speed away east on I-94 while the second victim was able to pass and exit on Range Road. The suspect then followed the second car onto the exit ramp and began to fire shots out the window of his car as the victim's car approached Range Road. The driver then dialed 9-1-1 while heading south on Range Road and kept authorities on the line while giving police a description of the man and his vehicle along with his direction of travel. The suspect was spotted by police turning into the Marysville Meijer where he was taken into into custody by deputies, Border Patrol and Marysville Police. The man is currently being held on multiple charges including attempted murder, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, and driving while license suspended. Additional alcohol related charges are being sought pending the results of toxicology tests.
