Trial date set for former Mobile Home Park Manager charged with embezzlement

(LEXINGTON) -- A trial date has been scheduled for the former Lexington Municipal Mobile Home Park manager accused of embezzlement. 52-year old Cheryl Vincent of Lexington appeared for her Circuit Court arraignment Monday on felony charges of embezzlement by an agent or trustee of $1,000 or more, but less than $20,000 and a misdemeanor charge of embezzlement by an agent or trustee of $200 or more, but less than $1,000. An investigation between the Sanilac County Sheriff's Department and Lexington Police revealed that approximately $18,000 was found missing during a routine audit and should have been recorded as rent payments. Authorities say the embezzlement took place July 2011 through November 2012 and totaled over 200 missing cash receipts. Vincent's final settlement hearing is set for July 8 at 2:30 p.m. and her trial is scheduled for July 23 at 9:30 a.m.
