(SANILAC COUNTY) -- Sanilac County Community Mental Health Executive Director, Jim Johnson recently presented a check in the amount of $973 to members of the Walk to Remember Sub-Committee of the Sanilac County Building Ties. The money will be used to support Walk to Remember's Respite Care Fund, which provides financial assistance for respite care for caregivers of loved ones suffering from Alzheimer's or other forms of memory loss. Community Mental Health employees make a quarterly donation to non-profit organizations through their "Casual for a Cause" initiative. Those employees are allowed to dress casually every other Friday in exchange for a $3 donation to the fund. Former recipients have included the Sanilac County Humane Society, Eva's Place, CPS Project Blessing, Department of Human Services Holiday Project, Thumbs' Up for Kids, United Hospice Service and the Human Development Commission.
