Representative Muxlow set to hold news conference on 'Logan's Law'

(CLYDE TOWNSHIP) -- State Representative Paul Muxlow of Brown City is holding a news conference Friday, May 17 to discuss House Bill 4534, known as "Logan's Law," and its impact on reducing animal abuse in Michigan. The event will be held at the Blue Water Area Humane Society, 6266 Lapeer Road in Clyde Township at 10:30 a.m. Representative Muxlow says there has been overwhelming support for the legislation and he hopes the bill will go through committee quickly and up for a full vote of the House. Logan's Law is a proposed legislation package that would create an offender's database for anyone convicted of animal cruelty laws. Logan, a husky dog, died last year after someone sprayed acid on his face. If passed, the legislation would start a registry of animal abusers and block convicted abusers from adopting animals.
