(HURON COUNTY) -- A 48-year old Bad Axe man will spend two to seven years in prison for his role in delivering designer drugs known as "bath salts." Robert Alent was sentenced Monday in Huron County Circuit Court after being charged with eight felony counts stemming from a raid last September at the Maple Lane Discount Store on N. VanDyke Street, owned by Alent, and his residence at 1030 Beech Street, both located in the city of Bad Axe. Two of the charges included maintaining a drug house. The Drug Enforcement Agency was called to search the home on Beech Street due to the large amounts of hazardous materials that were used to manufacture illegal substances. Alent was sentenced to 16 months to 2-years in prison on those charges. Huron County Prosecutor Tim Rutkowski stated that the Huron County Sheriff's Department and Bad Axe Police Department did an excellent job investigating the case and processing evidence.
