(TUSCOLA COUNTY) -- State Police from the Caro post were led on a high-speed chase Sunday evening that led to the arrest of a 41-year-old Kingston man. According to police, the suspect was traveling 99 miles per hour on Hurds Corner Road near Rossman Road when officers attempted to make the stop. With police in pursuit the suspect failed to stop at the intersection of Hurds Corner Rd and M-46 where he continued east on M-46 at a high rate of speed. The suspect vehicle then entered the north ditch, then exited the ditch and continued west of M-46 as he attempted to cause a crash with troopers by slamming on the brakes. He then continued west on M-46 at a high rate of speed in the eastbound lane forcing oncoming traffic off the road. The driver then lost control of the vehicle near Hurds Corner Road entering a ditch and becoming stuck. Police were forced to use a taser and OC spray to subdue the suspect as he refused to get out of the vehicle. After additional units arrived on the scene, officers forcibly removed the suspect from the vehicle and took him into custody. He is currently lodged in the Tuscola County Jail on several felony charges. His name has not been released pending arraignment.
